If you just want to do digital modes through fldigi, you re probably good to go at this point. You can have flrig running on the Raspberry pi and fldigi running on the client, and they will be able to communicate and key up the radio and stuff. But I wanted to do voice as well. So what to do?

Hello, Gene here. i;m a ham radio operator and wanted some info on hooking up a raspberry3 to a ham radio output(audio) to decode Morse cod on my VGA flat screen monitor. Is this the place to go?

Hi I am looking for a terminal program that understands Murray code and allows 45.45 and 50 Baud 5 bit murray to go out of the com port the com port may be 8 bit in which case this will not work and an io must be used that is fact enough up to 100 baud the idea is to directly communicate with a teleprinter or demodulator any one got any ideas optimum would be to use a pi and a keyboard and a display module with maybe also on the asc11 side a thermal printer

    Hi Rob

I have just tried installing phaseshift on two RPi's one running Raspbian wheezy and one running the latest Raspbian jessie and was able to install it on both, so it should install ok.

start by doing an update to download the latest software list, with

    sudo apt-get update

    then try

    sudo apt-get install phaseshift

If you still get an error, can you post the error message you get.

I'm trying to run PSK31 on my Raspberry PI. I chose this from the list
phaseshift0.40-13.3 PSK31 terminal for X11; I used sudo apt-get install phaseshift in the command line LXTerminal and pressed 'Enter' the command was rejected.
Please inform me where I'm going wrong and tell me the correct way to download the phaseshift so I can install it on to the 'PI'
    Thank you for your time

Hi Alister, Thanks for your comment.
I have an article about direwolf in the software communication section with a link to it's website.

This page is a list of Raspbian repository software packages that can be installed with the apt-get command. Unfortunately DireWolf is not available as a package so it doesn’t appear in the list.
**UPDATE: DireWolf is now available as a software package

  • Comment Link Alister Saturday, 28 March 2015 14:52 posted by Alister

You might consider adding direwolf to the list. I have been using it very succesfully for APRS from some time now.

It can act as a digipeater and/or as an igate.

    Hi Hugh

Ratings can be added for any package by clicking on any Rate It link which takes you to a submission form.

Thank you for your rating of GRIG, which has been added to the list.

  • Comment Link Hugh Wardlaw Friday, 13 June 2014 22:46 posted by Hugh Wardlaw

I wish that I could rate GRIG. It is pretty good. I would rate it Like. It is no HamRadio Deluxe, but it is a good start.

Oh YES - in the command line:
    1) sudo apt-get update
    2) sudo apt-get install [package name]
    eg: sudo apt-get install soundmodem

Yes. In raspbian on a Raspberry Pi connected to the internet, load LXterminal and enter the command
    sudo apt-get install (package name)

At the top of this page is a paragraph on how to do this plus a link to a full guide on how to install software packages.

  • Comment Link KB5ITJ Thursday, 25 July 2013 23:58 posted by KB5ITJ

Are any of these packages downloadable?
